Yakima Peak, Mt. Rainier National Park, Washington

What a difference a month makes.

A month ago, snow-covered the alpine regions of the Washington Cascades near Mt. Rainier. Within a month, only patches of snow remain in the high alpine non-glaciated areas.

Before the first day of Summer, this was the view of the snow-covered Yakima Peak. A blanket of snow and ice-covered Tipsoo Lake (not pictured).

Since the day I created this photograph, the snow has melted, and the alpine flowers are in bloom.

A month can make a big difference.

Thank you for reading and your continued support.
