During my visits to Belgium, I've spent time photographing historic buildings, abbey grounds, city architecture, and the forests surrounding Brussels.
Much of this collection comes from exploring places such as Rouge Cloître, Abbaye de la Cambre, and Leuven. I'm interested in the details of older buildings, from stone walls and doorways to the shapes of their roofs and windows. I've also spent time walking through the Sonian Forest, where the trees, paths, and changing seasons offer a different kind of landscape.
This gallery brings together my black-and-white photographs from those visits. Some show recognizable landmarks, while others concentrate on quieter places and details that might otherwise go unnoticed. I invite you to explore the collection and find a photograph that speaks to you.
Belgium has given me opportunities to photograph places quite different from those I usually explore in the Pacific Northwest. From historic buildings to wooded paths, these photographs reflect the places I've visited and the details I've taken time to explore.
