I've spent years photographing the mountains of Washington, from the volcanic peaks of the Cascades to the rugged ridges of the Olympic Peninsula. Some days offer clear views across the valleys. Others bring clouds, fog, and shifting light that can change a familiar landscape in minutes.
I'm drawn to the shapes of mountain ridges, the textures of snow and rock, and the way forests and clouds soften the landscape. Working in black and white allows me to concentrate on those details and the atmosphere that first caught my attention.

The mountains have been part of my photography for many years. I return to familiar places because the light, weather, and seasons are never quite the same. Even a view I've photographed before can reveal something new.
